Food Sampling
Exhibitors are required to complete and submit this form for the Venue to seek approval for food sampling at the Supershow.
Prior to handing out any food samples or operating a Temporary Food Stall during the Supershow, exhibitors must notify the NSW Food Authority of their food activity details. This can be done via a paper form or online by visiting the NSW Food Authority website Food Notify. Exhibitors are to ensure that all guidelines are adhered to during the event and more information can be found at this link: https://www.foodauthority.nsw.gov.au/retail/markets-and-temporary-events.
These guidelines were developed by the NSW Food Authority for the purpose of providing assistance to food operators trading at festivals, fairs, markets and the like, and outlines specific requirements which need to be complied with to meet the practical requirements of the current food laws. Inspections may be carried out by Council Environmental Health Officers.
It is the responsibility of the Exhibitor to ensure that any required licence from the NSW Food Authority is obtained.
If you are sampling food that is perishable (eg; chicken, meat, sausages) or contains foods that are perishable (eg: cakes with eggs, milk etc), it is your responsibility to register with the NSW Food Authority. Please complete the form advising what you are cooking and how you are storing the food onsite. If approved, the NSW Food Authority will issue you with a file number. Please keep this number on hand should Parramatta Council happen to undertake health inspections during the Supershow. Below is the link to the NSW Food Authority website (Notify a Food Business) where you can fill out the form and lodge it on-line or print out a form to scan/fax.

Exhibitors using food as part of their demonstrations (eg: those selling slicers, peelers) but are not giving out food samples, don’t need to register but must be advised to follow safe food handling practices on-site. Please do not wash your utensils in the bathrooms.
Exhibitors that conduct food demonstrations with heat sources need to be aware of proximity of visitors, and consider Perspex sneeze guards to prevent burn injuries from grabbing or from accidental spills.
If you have any queries in relation to sampling food or whether or not you are required to register, please contact the Food Authority for further advice.
