Sale of Product & Second-Hand Vehicles and Goods
Sales of Products
Motor Vehicles and Trailers
Under no circumstances are exhibitors of motor vehicles and/or trailers allowed to complete sales on site at the Expo. Under the NSW Motor Dealers & Repairers Act 2013 a “motor vehicle” includes a motorhome, campervan and any vehicle included with the sale of a slide-on.
“Trailers” include caravans, camper trailers, pop-top caravans, tent trailers and 5th wheelers with a tare weight of 250 kilograms or more. Exhibitors can enter into a contract of sale and take a deposit at the Expo, but completion of sale and handover must be completed at your business premises and must not be completed on site. If such activity was to occur it would be a breach of the CCIA’s Show Contract Terms and Conditions, and a breach of the NSW Motor Dealers & Repairers Act 2013.
It is extremely important that all exhibitors comply with these obligations and act according to the law. Any reports of non-compliance will be treated very seriously and appropriate action taken, including exclusion from participation in future shows.
Food and Drink
The sale of drink or food by exhibitors that is not approved by the Organiser and Venue is prohibited.
Other Products
All other products sold from stands must have a clearly visible receipt taped to the goods. Security guards will ask to see these receipts as people depart.
Second Hand Vehicles
Exhibitors must not offer or display for sale used or second-hand products.
This includes any motor vehicle which is registered, including any demonstrator vehicles, which are defined in the motor vehicle laws as second-hand motor vehicles.
However, demonstrator motor vehicles may be demonstrated on the site so long as they are not offered or displayed for sale and each demonstrator motor vehicle has a sign in a position that is readily accessible and visible stating that the motor vehicle is a demonstrator and is not offered or displayed for sale.
Exhibitors must not use second-hand vehicles as their ‘show office’ on their site.
The terms and conditions of the Expo clearly state that used or second-hand vehicles cannot be displayed or sold on-site. Any second hand or used vehicle or product found on an exhibitor’s site, including a ‘site office’ vehicle, will be removed from the show. Deliberate contravention of the show contract conditions could also have consequences for offenders when it comes to gaining access to future shows.
Under NO circumstances can second-hand or used products be displayed for sale to the general public. Exhibitors who engage in restoration or repair work aligned with the industry may promote their services but are not permitted to sell any second-hand, repaired or restored products.
Suburban Hot Water Systems
Please note that due to the ongoing recall of Suburban Hot Water Systems, no product can be displayed for sale with a Suburban Hot Water System Installed.
This must either be physically removed from the product or have been replaced with an alternative brand prior to display at the Expo.
