Safety Advice On Lithium Batteries

Caravan Camping Industry Association of New South Wales is asking all exhibitors that have lithium batteries on your stand, including those in RV’s and Electric Scooters and Bikes to follow the below precautions: –

  1. Lithium batteries MUST NOT be charged on-site overnight.
  • Be sure to disconnect and turn off all electrical systems in products, prior to leaving each day.
  • This applies to RVs and any Electric Scooters and Bikes on display
  1. E-scooters and E-bikes on display must have keys removed and NOT be operated or recharged at any time on the grounds.
  2. All Lithium battery installations are to be thoroughly tested, prior to display at the Expo and regularly monitored for safe operation.
  3. In case of an Emergency with a lithium battery, we will follow Fire Authority advice to immediately evacuate the area and raise the alarm: –
  1. Unplug the product if safe to do so
  2. Do not attempt to extinguish or use firefighting equipment
  3. Evacuate the area (refer to the evacuation map in the exhibitor manual)
  4. Call Lauren Rogers on 0407 620 037 or Kylie Elliott on 0439 502 202, who will arrange for Emergency Services to attend.
  1. Any exhibitors with Lithium Batteries MUST have a fire extinguisher on hand.
