Food Sampling
Food Sampling / Temporary Food Stalls
The following information from the Heath Inspector is for any exhibitor offering sampling at the Newcastle Expo. All measures must be implemented to reduce risk.
The following considerations would need to be applied as well:
- Ensure food is protected from the likely hood of contamination
- Ensure customer wash or sanitise their hands prior to consuming food
- No sharing or serving implements i.e. tongs / serving spoons etc.
Exhibitors are required to complete and submit this form for the Venue to seek approval for food sampling at the Expo.
Prior to handing out any food samples or operating a Temporary Food Stall during the Expo, exhibitors must notify the NSW Food Authority of their food activity details. This can be done via a paper form or online by visiting the NSW Food Authority website Food Notify.
Exhibitors are to ensure that the provisions outlined in the NSW Food Authority’s website are followed during the event. These guidelines were developed by the NSW Food Authority for the purpose of providing assistance to food operators trading at festivals, fairs, markets and the like, and outlines specific requirements which need to be complied with to meet the practical requirements of the current food laws. Inspections may be carried out by Council Environmental Health Officers.
It is the responsibility of the Exhibitor to ensure that any required licence from the NSW Food Authority is obtained.
